History

Metabolic Syndrome Research Center was approved by the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education on 5/22/2011.

The Metabolic Syndrome Research Center was established in 2016 with the merger of two centers for nutritional biochemistry and metabolism glands, and was headed by Dr. Seyed Mohammad Reza Prizadeh.

Also in 2019, the center was ranked second among research centers.

Internationally, he has collaborated with successful authors in the Center's research

In recent years, the research field of the faculty members of the center has won second rankings and research awards

Also, according to the records of the professors of the center, succeeded in admitting 4 students in Research PhD course.

vision

The Metabolic Syndrome Research Center seeks to be among the dynamic and creative research centers in order to improve the level of services by providing applied and fundamental research in the country's health system. In this regard, this center uses research results in the community and encourages and encourages. The center's researchers work in the field of diabetes and cancer and seek to identify new methods of diagnosis and treatment related to cancer. It also strives to promote and improve the quality of research activities through the publication of research activities in the form of books, articles and electronic resources.

Mission

Introducing, maintaining and strengthening the position of the research center in the provincial, national and international arenas, guiding, facilitating, systematizing and implementing research projects, developing the subdivisions of the research center, prioritizing research based on needs assessment, encouraging and empowering researchers in To implement research projects, attract cooperation and its continuation with the industry sector in order to help meet their research needs and strengthen the financial strength of the research center, periodic evaluation of the performance of the research center.

Objectives of the Research Center

  1. Maintaining and strengthening the position of the Metabolic Syndrome Research Center in the provincial, national and international arenas.

  1. Directing, facilitating, systematizing and implementing research projects in the field of endocrinology, metabolism, biochemistry and nutrition.

  1. Communication and cooperation with other research centers

  1. Prioritize research based on the needs of the country.

  1. Encouraging and empowering researchers to implement research projects.

  1. Collaborate with industry to help meet their research needs and strengthen the Metabolic Syndrome Research Center.

  1. Periodic evaluation of the performance of the Metabolic Syndrome Research Center.

The research priorities of the Metabolic Syndrome Center are in line with the following two general axes:

  1. Identify the mechanism and causes of premature death due to cardiovascular disease and modern methods of treatment of metabolic diseases (including diabetes and metabolic syndrome)
  2. Identification of new diagnostic and therapeutic methods related to cancer (gastrointestinal cancers)

Sub-sections of the unit:

The center operates in two sub-units: 1) endocrinology and 2) biochemistry / nutrition / genetics, which includes the following activities:

1.Diabetes

2.Tyroid

  1. Obesity, metabolic syndrome and atherosclerosis
  2. The role of nutrition and biochemical markers in the process of atherosclerosis
  3. Treatment of patients with Ischemicalimbs to prevent amputation
  4. Research on the effects of fasting on health and diseases
  5. Treatment of chronic wounds in diabetic patients with stem cells
  6. Study of the prevalence of malnutrition in different strata of society (study of the effect of vitamin D supplementation, etc.)
  7. Identifying the mechanism and causes of premature death due to cardiovascular diseases and modern methods of treatment of metabolic diseases (diabetes and metabolic syndrome)

Identify new diagnostic and therapeutic methods related to cancer (gastrointestinal cancers).
